Wanda Group decided to cancel the opening ceremony for its new plaza in Jimei District in Xiamen City, Fujian Province on June 8.

Instead, the 1 million yuan for the ceremony will be donated to Xiamen Charity Federation to help the victims of yesterday’s bus fire in Xiamen.

A BRT (bus rapid transit) bus caught fire near the Jinshan bus stop at about 6:20 p.m. yesterday. Initial investigation shows the fatal fire has claimed 47 lives and hospitalized 34.

The Jimei Wanda Plaza will still open to business today as scheduled.
